House moves around Savile Park
Savile Park is the open moor-edge ground south of the town centre, ringed by stone houses rather than flats. From 16 Albion Court, Halifax HX1 1YN it is about a mile, uphill toward Skircoat. The streets people mean are Savile Park Road, Free School Lane, and the roads that look onto the recreation ground. Houses are larger than a typical terrace: Victorian and Edwardian family homes, some split into flats, with bay windows, cellars and stairs that turn more than once. Parking looks easy until a match day or a school run. The recreation ground draws cars, and the roads nearest the grass fill first. A removal van needs a straight stretch, not a corner by a junction. Tell us if the drive is steep or if we will stop on the road and carry across a pavement. Garden steps up to a front door are common, and they add a lift before you are even inside. Inside, these houses often have a piano, a large wardrobe on a half landing, and a loft that was boarded years ago. We need to know about all three before the day. A piece that was delivered by crane or through a window is not a normal stair carry, and we would rather say so when we quote. Cellars can be damp and the steps narrow. If you want the cellar cleared, say so. If you do not, we will not assume it. Postcodes here are mainly HX1, on the Skircoat side of town. Calderdale Council is the council for bins and council tax. Manor Heath and the town centre are both a short trip, but the feel of the street is residential. People's Park is down the hill toward Hopwood Lane if you want a walk that is not the open moor. The Shay is close enough that football traffic can touch Skircoat Road on a Saturday. We treat a Savile Park house as a full house move unless you tell us only part of the contents is going.
