Moving into a new build around Halifax

New builds slip. Here is how to plan a Halifax move when the road, the keys or the floors are not ready.

Boxes stacked in a newly finished home

Dates slip on new estates

A new house around Halifax, Illingworth, Mixenden or the edge of Brighouse can be ready on paper and unfinished on the ground. Roads may be unadopted. The show-home route may not be the route a van can use. Floors may still need protecting because they are new, not because they are old.

Agree three things before we come:

  • A key time you trust, not a hopeful morning.
  • Where the van can turn.
  • Whether the whole house is coming on day one.

If the old house must be empty and the new one is late, storage is the bridge. Do not assume we can wait on a site road. House removals still need a list of what is moving, including the garage you have not filled yet.

Frequently asked questions

What if the house is not finished?

Do not book the van to an address we cannot enter. Storage can cover a gap if we agree it in writing.

Are site roads a problem?

They can be. Mud, narrow estate roads and no formal parking are worth a photo before the day.
