Start with the shape of the town
The centre is flats, shops and short walks to the Piece Hall, the bus station on Wade Street and the station on Horton Street. Read Halifax Town Centre if that is the search. Savile Park and Skircoat Green are larger houses south of the centre, near open ground and Manor Heath.
West and north-west, King Cross and Pellon are terraces on hills. Ovenden, Illingworth and Mixenden are further out, with more estate housing. East, Boothtown, Northowram and Southowram sit above the valley.
Towns that are still Calderdale
Sowerby Bridge and Luddenden Foot are west in the valley. Elland and Brighouse are south-east. Brighouse uses HD6 postcodes. The council is still Calderdale.
